Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah yesterday reiterated his call upon the house owners to give rent only after collecting proper information about the tenants, reports BSS.
"The owners of the houses must collect the photographs, photocopy of national ID cards of the tenants and deliver other information about them on the form supplied by the police. They (house owners) must submit one copy of that fully filled form with other documents to local police station," the DMP commissioner said. Asaduzzaman Miah came up with the observations while inaugurating Citizen Information Management System (CIMS) software at capital's Ramna Police Station. Top officials of DMP were present on the occasion.
Giving thanks to city dwellers for their spontaneous response during collection of information about tenants, the DMP commissioner urged the house owners, who are yet to submit the tenant information report, to do this as soon as possible. "With the help from all the city dwellers, we want to establish a social security net in Dhaka city," he added.
With the help of this software, DMP will be able to store information about the tenants in the capital in its system and will provide a unique ID number to each tenant.
