Air pumped into boy’s stomach in capital

An 11-year-old boy fell ill after air was pumped into his stomach through his rectum at a workshop in the capital’s Mohammadpur area yesterday, reports UNB.
The victim was identified as Aron Miah, a child worker of Meghla Automobiles of Basila and son of Md Abed Ali of Brahmanbaria.
Aron’s co-workers Shafiqul and Rafi pumped air into his rectum around 4 pm, said sub-inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp Bachchu Miah.
Workshop owner Saddam Hossain rescued Aron and took him to the DMCH, he added.
Doctors at the hospital described his condition as very critical.
