Programme taken to rehabilitate farmers

FARIDPUR: As part of its agriculture rehabilitation programme, Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has taken up a massive initiative to rehabilitate the flood affected farmers under four upazilas of the district, reports BSS.
According to DAE, the flood affected farmers of Sadar, Charbhadrasan, Sadarpur and Bhanga whose standing crops have been damaged by the recent flood will be given various types of paddy saplings suited for the respective areas of the district.
According to the sources, about 4,01,300 affected farmers under the upazilas will be given paddy saplings free of cost. Besides, a total of 17,211 farmers will be rehabilitated in other ways, the sources added.
