Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) will operate 13-day-long special Eid service along with its regular service before and after Eid-ul-Azha, reports BSS.
“The Eid special service on Dhaka-Chandpur-Barisal-Khulna route will begin on September 7, an official release said, adding the service will be operated by ultramodern luxurious ships—MV Bangali and MV Modhumati—till September 19. Besides, the traditional paddle steamers—PS Ostrich, PS Lepcha and PS Turn—also will be pressed into the service to carry the home-bound passengers.
The ship and the sea-truck will be included in the special service for travel of the people of coastal islands and island districts. The coastal service on Chittagong-Swandip-Hatia-Barisal route will be operated by MV Baroaulia, MV Abdul Matin and MV Manirul Haq from Sept 7-13.
Extra special trips will be conducted in addition to regular trips on this route, the release added.
A total of 450 buses would be included in BRTC’s special bus service for travelling on different routes from the capital.
Besides, the special service will be operated with 500 BRTC buses which would be operated from September 8-14.
