7 robbers held with arms in Ctg

CHITTAGONG: Chittagong District Police today arrested 7 alleged robbers while preparing to commit a crime from Dhamsha union under Satkhania upazila.
Arrested Mohsin Kaiser, 48, Abul Kashem, 40, Shankar Chowdhury, 52, Jahangir Alam, 32, Shamsul Alam, 48, Jakir Hossain, 35 and Mohammad Monir, 25, hailed from different upazilas of the district.
Additional Police Super Reazaul Masud said police on secret information arrested them from Dhamsha union under Satkhania upazila of the district at 1 am early yesterday.
The arrested robbers are the members of an organized dacoit gang, Masud added.
Later, police recovered four foreign made Single Barrel gun, one LG gun, two daggers and two knives from their possessions.
Police said, during primary interrogation arrested persons confessed that they were taking preparations to commit a robbery.
Three separate cases were filed in this connection.
