Natore: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan yesterday alleged that the defeated forces of the 1971 are trying to carry out subversive acts in the name of different militant organizations, reports UNB.
“When the trial of war criminals is about to conclude, the 1971 defeated forces are trying to carry out subversive acts in the name of different militant outfits,” he said.
The minister came up with the remarks while addressing a meeting on the premises of Natore Sadar Police Station after the inauguration of its newly-constructed building.
He also alleged that the defeated forces who tried to kill Sheikh Hasina 12 years back on August 21 have recently started weird activities in the country in the name of IS.
Asaduzzaman warned that they will deal with an iron hand those trying to destabilise the country in the name of militancy.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, local MP Shafiqul Islam Shimul, Rajshahi range DIG M Khurshid Hossain and Natore SP Biplob Bijoy Talukderr were, among others, were present.
Later, the home minister joined an anti-militancy rally at Natore Old Bus Stand arranged by the local unit of Awami League.
“Militancy will be stamped out as people have been united under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he told the anti-militancy rally as the chief guest.
Speaking as special guest, State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said the government is taking necessary measures including enacting Digital Security Act to make safe the cyber world.
With General Secretary of Natore Sadar Upazila Awami League Anwar Hossain Anu in the chair, it was addressed, among others, by Advocate Abul Kalam Azad, MP, and administrator of district council Advocate Sajedur Rahman Khan.
