BCC panel mayor suspended

Panel mayor of Barisal City Corporation (BCC) and counselor of  Ward No12 Alhajj K M Shahidullah was suspended by the ministry concerned.
A letter in this regards issued on Thursday last. Administrative of BCC received the letter yesterday. K M Shahidullah was detained from his house in Alekanda area on January 5 this year by the member of RAB-8. He was also the president of Barisal district unit Swechhchhasebak Dal.
He was first detained as suspect involved in subversive activities and later handed over to Barisal model kotwali thana at mid night with a USA made illegal pistol and three round of bullets. RAB-8 in an official statement said that the illegal arms and ammunitions were seized from the business office in the ground floor of his house. Deputy assistant director of RAB-8 Sikdar Asrafur Rahman filed an arms case against BCC panel mayor KM Shahidullah with Barisal model kotwali thana. Later he was sent to Barisal chief metropolitan magistrate court on January 6 this year. Chief metropolitan magistrate  ordered to send him to Barisal Central Jail. Shahid later got bail from higher court.
