No board will decide to send their second string team in Tigers den as Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury believes that England will not make second thought keeping the current Bangladesh team’s performance in mind.
“It is absolutely a matter of the ECB whose player will come or not. We hope that England or other teams will send their best possible squad keeping the current Bangladesh team’s performance in mind,” said Nizamuddin Chowdhury.
The English side is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on September 30 to play three one day internationals along with two-match Test series.
When asked if there is any possibility of rescheduling or shortening the series, the CEO said that the tour will continue as planned.
“We have got to know from one or two media that the tour is being rescheduling, or shortening. But no such discussion is held among us,” Chowdhury said, adding “The tour will go ahead as planned. I also hope that the tour will be held in due time and at the same pace and schedule.”
The fate of the tour was thrown into doubt while a terror attack in Dhaka that killed 22 – the most of which are foreigners.
