CHITTAGONG: Three persons including an alleged dacoit and a village police were killed in separate incidents in the city and district on Thursday night and Friday, police and hospital source said, reports BSS.
Among the victims an alleged dacoit was killed by the people beating him at Holodia union of Raozan upazila of the district. Police recovered the body of a village police from Kudurkhill area of Boalkhali upazila while a mason was killed after falling from a four storied under construction building in city's Faridarpara area under Chandgaon thana.
In the first incident, a group of dacoits numbering about eight were taking preparation to commit robbery at Holodia village of Raozan upazila of the district in the small hours of on Friday.
Sensing the presence of dacoits locals came from near-by areas and cordoned them. The agitated mob started beating the bandit and dumped the body at the road side confirming him as a dacoit.
The rest of the dacoits left the scene in the darkness of the night. Police recovered the body and identified it as of Abul Hashem's. The 38-year-old Hashem was the son of Hossain Ali hailing from Dabua area of the same upazila.
In the second incident in Boalkhali thana, police recovered the body of a village police from a pond of Khodurkhill village.
Police and victim's wife Shahnaz Begum claimed that he was missing for the last two days.
Mason Momen, 40, received serious head injury after falling from a four storied under construction building at city's Faridarpara area of Chandgaon thana at 1am last night.
Locals took the victim to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) at 2am last night but the attending doctors declared him dead after admission.
