KHULNA: A local leader of BNP, who was injured in an attack by miscreants at Bhandarcoat village in Dumuria upazila on Friday night, died at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) early Saturday, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Abul Kalam Fakir,40, vice-president of Bhandarcoat union unit of BNP and son of Iman Ali, a resident of the village.
Officer-in-charge of Dumuria Police Station Tajul Islam said a gang of miscreants attacked Abul Kalam after he went out of the house to go to his fish enclosure at about 11:00pm on Friday.
The attackers then stabbed Kalam indiscriminately, leaving him seriously injured.
