Info leaders to play role in changing society: Speakers

BARISAL: Speakers at a workshop here yesterday said the info leaders will play a key role in changing society through disseminating objective information about the socioeconomic development and livelihood to the rural people using the TrinomulerTathyajanala (info window) platform, reports UNB.
They also said the info leaders will write reports and features regularly and upload those on the Trinomuler Tathyajanala, a dynamic portal to be developed and used for disseminating information to people.
Trinomuler Tathyajanala Programme of ICT Division and Tathyaseba Barta Sangstha (TSB) arranged the workshop at Barisal Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Gazi Md Saifuzzaman and Additional Secretary (Education and ICT) Kazi Hosne Ara spoke at the programme with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Humayun Kabir in the chair. TSB assistant editor Protik Mahmud presented a power-point depicting the overall activities of the Trinomuler Tathyajanala Programme.
The speakers said the socioeconomic condition of the rural people have improved substantially as the government has expanded development activities up to grassroots level.
Saifuzzaman said the Trinomuler Tathyajanala will be the platform of disseminating objective information of grassroots and the info leaders who will write reports and features for this platform, keeping a greater role in changing society through their write-ups.
The training to build capacity on outsourcing and e-commerce will help increase earning of the UDCs, he said.
The 3-year-long Trinomuler Tathyajanala Programme has been launched to build 10,000 info leaders through providing training to the entrepreneurs of 4550 UDCs of the country.
Access to Information (A2I) Programme of Prime Ministers Office is providing assistance to implement the programme while TSB is working as an implementation associate, according to a press release.
