In the wicket which was difficult to bat on, Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim showed the necessary technique to thrive. Mushaifur’s classy 90 runs knock however went in vain as Riyad won the clash with 62 runs knock.
Riyad said he just maintained the process as they needed a partnership in the crunch moment.
Nasir Hossain’s Green Team amassed 194 what Mashrafe’s Red overhauled in 44.4 overs to win the game by three wickets. But initially they tasted a collapse and Riyad was the man to repair it through the classy knock.
“I just maintained the process and played according to the condition,” Riyad said after the match. “At that moment we needed a partnership badly. Luckily Saikat and me combined together to help the side settle the nerve.”
Even though it was a practice match, Riyad said everyone was focused and tried to play it with competitive mood.
“Before the game, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza told all of us to be focused and not to take it as just mere practice game. He wanted us to be competitive throughout the game and we remained so.”
“As we played proper cricket after a quite long time, we needed to be focused actually.”
Riyad however thought the long gap wasn’t the reason behind the low-scoring affair.
“The wicket was difficult. There was swing in the morning so batting wasn’t easy task in this track. At afternoon the wicket became bit easier.”
