Bangladesh Shooting Sports Federation (BSSF) has taken a massive programme to develop the shooting range to an international standard with an aim to do better result in the Tokyo Olympic in 2020.
Nazimuddin Chowdhury, president of the BSSF, stated this before the opening of the Hesham Uddin modern10 meter shooting range at Gulshan Shooting Range yesterday. The BSSF arranged the function ahead of Beximco 28th National Shooting competition
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed formally announced the opening of the range as chief guest with the country’s shooters looked to be pleased with the new 10-metre range and from now on they can use all modern facilities.
Salman F Rahman, the Vice-Chairman of the Beximco was also present as special guest.
The BSSF also accorded reception to five former shooting organisers with awarding a gold medal and Taka 25,000 each of them.
Tofail Ahmed in his speech said that the government is giving importance to all sports and urged all the corporate houses to provide support to uplift the standard of different sports and games.
“Our Prime Minister is very much passionate of sports, even she visit to stadium to watch the matches of Bangladesh team. Her presence would definitely encourage the players to dedicate them for the national team.”
“Not only in shooting, government will provide more financial support to all sports. It is very much encouraging that more than 300 shooters including male and female are participating in the competition.”
“I like to request all the corporate houses, here Anjan Chowdhury Pintu’s Square to come forward like Salman F Rahman to provide their supports to sports,” said Tofail.
Tofail also mentioned that if the young would be inspired and involved with sports they would not go out of track to engage with different crimes while the minister also said, “A certain quarters are very much active to destroy our progress but we would strongly protect all the hindrance.”
Salman F Rahman, the Vice-Chairman of the Beximco gave importance to training and coaching.
Salman F Rahman said, “I’m satisfied with the performance of the shooters and the activities of the federation.”
“I believe we will be able to win gold medal at international level. I affirmed our PM (Primer Minster) about the bright future of the shooting and she also gave green signal to properly nurture the game.”
“Thanks to all of you for organising training with foreign coaches, we always spent so much money but not for coaching and training. But I would like to say we should give importance to coaches and coaching program,” said Salman F Rahman.
Shooting Federation secretary general Intekhabul Hamid, in his speech said that besides, Hesham Uddin 10 meter modern range, the federation they will build another two 20 meter and 50 meter international standard range by December 2016.
