Members of Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) arrested six people, including three Myanmar nationals, along with 40,000 air gun bullets, currency and some fake national identity cards from Balipara BGB check post area in Thanchi upazila in Bandarban yesterday.
The arrested Myanmar nationals are Kathan, 19, Meg Meg, 23, and Noyang Noyang, 23, while Bangladeshis are Mong Cha Murong, 29, and Baoai Marma, 38, members of Rematri union parishad in Thanchi upazila, and La Mong Marma, 27, a trader.
BGM members arrested them around 10 am while they were going to Thanchi upazila in two battery-run human haulers, said commanding officer of Balipara BGB battalion-33 Lt Col Quamrul Islam.
The BGB members also seized 80,000 Myanmar kyat, Tk 2.55 lakh, 12 fake national ID cards, 40 T-shirts, one saw, three cameras and huge medicines from their possession, he said, adding that the arrestees were handed over to Thanchi Police Station.
