RANGPUR: A female snake-charmer died of snakebite in Dimla Kanun Betla village near Mahiganj in the outskirts of the city yesterday, reports BSS.
The deceased was identified as Lovely Begum, 45, wife of snake-charmer Sabuz Mian of the same area.
Being requested by the local people, Lovely Begum went to catch a poisonous snake inside a hole to a nearby house in absence of her husband at around 10 am.
But, the poisonous cobra instantly bit her as soon as she put her hand at the mouth of the hole in presence of the villagers.
Later, Lovely succumbed to the snake venom within half an hour.
