NBR surpasses revenue collection target of July

Revenue collection has surpassed the target of the first month of the current fiscal year 2016-17 (FY17) as the National Board of Revenue (NBR) collected Tk 9,597 crore in July, up by Tk 88 crore from the target of Tk 9,509 crore, reports BSS.
"We've been able to collect surplus amount of revenue in the first month of FY17. We are hopeful of achieving the fiscal year's revenue collection target of Tk 2,03152 crore," NBR Chairman Md Nojibur Rahman told the news agency.
He said NBR is implementing a tax administration reforming programme to boost the collection. NBR is showing zero tolerance so that tax officials cannot harass taxpayers or become involved in corruption, he added.
