Police yesterday detained a student of Dhaka University for his alleged connection with banned militant group Hizb ut Tahrir Bangladesh.
He was identified as Sultan Ahmed, a second year student of DU Botany department.
Dhaka University proctor Amzad Ali said ‘General students of Carzon Hall caught him (the accused) while he along with some of others was spreading messages of Islam interring the Chemistry department premises. ‘He (suspect) was handed over to the proctor office, then proctor office sent him to Shahabag police station’ he added.
