DRU Media Cup Football begins Aug 28

The Walton-DRU Media Cup Six a Side Football Tournament organized by Dhaka Reporters Unity and sponsored by Walton will begin August 28 at Shaheed M Monsur Ali Handball Stadium in the capital.
DRU sports secretary Mojibur Rahman stated this at a press conference at DRU auditorium in the capital yesterday. He said 34 print and electronic media houses of the country will take part in the tournament on a knock-out basis and it will be organised after a gap of six years. The final will take place on September 1.
The champion team will receive Tk 40,000 as prize money besides a trophy. The runners-up team will Tk 20,000 plus a trophy.
FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Don, head of sports and welfare department of Walton speaking on the occasion, said Walton is always ready to sponsor any sports event in the country. by this time it has almost sponsor all major and mini sports disciplines and in future, said Don.
DRU general secretary Raju Ahmed and president Jamaluddin also spoke on the occasion.
