Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club is going to launch a long time coaching camp with Under 18 booters. Most likely it will open from next month.
Manager of the Sheikh Jamal Anwarul Karim Helal while talking to this correspondent yesterday said that they are going to take the programme to produce quality booters for future.
“It will be our long term programme to produce quality players, who will represent the club in future.
“We have already completed the accommodation and other preparations for residential camp for the players and will invite the interested young booters to participate in the trial, hopefully will be commenced next weak.”
Helal also said, “We will pick up the talented players from the trial, who will take part from across the country in the camp. It will be a pipeline to provide players for the team.”
“We are expecting to run the camp adopting professional approach, as the players, who will be choose for the camp, will bring under a contract and they will get salary,” said Helal.
Helal also informed that the Nigerian coach Joseph Afusi along with the local coaches will look after the camp.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, the reigning champions of the Bangladesh Premier League and also on hat-trick champions, have been suffering from players’ crisis after losing some of their premier performers and could not form a strong team this season
Though till now, midway of the first leg they are one of the top to lead the point table along with three other teams obtaining 12 points from six matches. But from next round it may be difficult for them to hold on the position as some club officials feared that some of key foreign performers of the team may leave Bangladesh.
Jamal could not collect sufficient local booters but also had to play their beginning two matches of the ongoing JB Bangladesh Premier League without the team’s key performer and also the highest scorer of the lasts season Wedson Anselme.
Helal replying to a query said that they have already completed all the preliminary talks with a Gambian player, who is expecting to arrive in Dhaka by five days to complete their foreign quota.
“We made registration of three foreign players out of four, so we are expecting to complete it with a Gambian booters, hopefully the attacking midfielder will arrive within four or five days.”
Helal also said that during the second window of players registration, they will sign up some local young booters while they could sign up only 25 players out of the quota of 35 players.
