BSMMU to open 5 more newdepartments for patients
Five more new full-fledged new departments will be opened at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) with a view to creating more facilities for the patients, said a BSMMU press release in the capital on Monday.
The proposed new departments are Respiratory Medicine, Paediatric Neurology, Palliative Care Medicine, Paediatric Cardiology and Pedo-dauntics. Besides, hand and reconstructive surgery wing also will be opened at the hospital.
The proposals and recommendations were placed at the 50th council meeting of the medical university at Milton hall of the university on Monday with BSMMU Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Quamrul Hasan Khan in the chair. Later, the proposals and recommendations will be placed at the syndicate meeting of the medical university for final approval. A total of 46 full-fledged departments are now in operation in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. Pro Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Dr M Sharfuddin Ahmed, Pro Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Dr ASM Jakaria, Treasurer Professor Dr M Ali Asgar, Surgery Faculty Dean Professor Dr Kanak Kanti Barua, Nursing Faculty Dean Professor Dr Sahana Akhter Rahman, among others, were present.
Admission open house begins at EU
An admission fair for Fall 2016 Semester of Eastern University (EU) began on university premises yesterday, says a press release.
Ali Azzam, member, Board of Trustees, EU, inaugurated the programme in presence of Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, pro-vice chancellor; treasurer; deans; registrar; advisor; chairpersons; director, admission; teachers; officials and students of eu.
The fair will continue from August 22 to 24, 2016 from 9 am to 5pm everyday. Students seeking admission in Fall Semester 2016 will enjoy 50 per cent discount on admission fee and 10 per cent discount on tuition fee. During the fair, admission test of bachelor programmes will be held at 2pmevery day.
