Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) held five alleged robbers with arms and ammunition from a boat in the river Jamuna in Bhuapur upazila on Sunday night. The arrested people were identified as Bellal, 40, of Bhuapur upazila, Salam alias Salam Dakat, 45, of Kalihati upazila, Moazzem, 38, of Mirzapur, Abdul Barek, 48, and Dolun Mridha, 25. Mohi Uddin Faruki, commander of RAB Tangail-12, said acting on secret information that a gang of robbers were taking preparation to commit robbery in the area while cattle traders returning from Gobindhashi cattle market, the law enforcers conducted a raid at about 9 pm and intercepted a boat in the river Jamuna. They detained the robbers and recovered two LGs, five rounds of bullets and some sharp weapons from their possessions and seized the boat.
