The High Court (HC) yesterday asked Barisal deputy commissioner to remove 211 illegal structures on the bank of the Kirtonkhola River within 60 days, reports UNB.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Ashish Ranjan Das passed the order following a report submitted by the deputy commissioner.
The court passed the order holding hearing on a writ petition filed by Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB).
Advocate Manjil Morshed stood for the plea before the court. The High Court asked the authority concerned to submit a report on compliance of its order on November 13.
