The online admission process for the first year honours courses of Dhaka University (DU) for 2016-17 academic session began yesterday.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the admission process at central admission office of the university at 10am yesterday. The process eill continue till 12am on September 7
The total number of seats for this session is 6,800 (Ka-1680, Kha-2241, Ga-1170 and Gha-1880, Cha-135) which it was 6,655 for the last session. The total bank service charge and online service fees have been fixed to TK 350.
DU vice chancellor said the number, about 200, of seats has been increased in this session for being opened new departments -- Japanese Studies and Chinese Studies departments.
Hasibur Rahman, convener of online admission committee, deans from different faculties, directors of institutes, provosts of residential were present at the programme.
The admission tests will begin on September 23 with entry test for humanities group under ‘Kha-Unit’. The test of ‘Ka’ unit will be held on October 21, while ‘Ga’ unit on September 30, ‘Gha’ unit on October 28, and ‘Cha’ unit on October 1 (drawing) and September 24 (general knowledge).
