BNP man stabbed dead 
A local leader of Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants in Sheikhghat Khuliatula area of Sylhet city on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Tajul Islam, 55, member of the city unit of the BNP’s volunteer front and husband of Shahana Sanu, former councillor of ward-4 of Sylhet City Corporation.
Azim Uddin Patwary, second officer of Kotwali police station, said 2/3 miscreants riding a motorcycle attacked Tajul in front of Gorom Dewan Mazar in the area and stabbed him indiscriminately around 10pm which left him critically injured. 
Later he was rushed to Osmani Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Fifty illegal shops evicted 
A mobile court of Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) on Sunday evicted more than 50 illegal roadside shops from footpaths in the city, officials sources said.
Executive Magistrate of the City Corporation S M Golam Kibria led the mobile court, also participated by the concerned officials and employees of the City Corporation and police forces. 
During the drives, the mobile court evicted the illegally erected shops and establishments from Dhap Medical Mour to Police Camp areas on the main road in the city.  
    
Oil tanker workers to get separate wage
Oil tanker workers will get separate wage as their job is separate from other shipping transport.
“A gazette will soon be published in this regard,” said the Ministry of Labour and Employment in a press release on Sunday. This decision was taken in a meeting held here with state minister for labour and employment Md Mujibul Haq in the chair. Shipping minister Shajahan Khan, state minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid and leaders of Bangladesh Oil Tanker Owners’ Association and Shipping Workers Federation attended the meeting. The meeting decided to make effective measures soon for the minimum wage that was fixed at Tk 10,000 for the workers of the oil tankers on April 26.
