‘Mime Art Award 2016’ conferred

This year, ‘Mime Art Award 2016’ was conferred on three entertainment journalists, Dulal Khan, Kamrul Hasan Darpon and Anurup Aich. The awards were handed over to the recipients at a programme on August 18 at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital. The award ceremony was attended by noted thespian Dr Enamul Haque, Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation general secretary Akhtaruzzaman and mime artiste Nithor Mahbub, among others.
Dulal Khan and Kamrul Hasan Darpon received the awards from the hand of Dr Enamul Haque, but Anurup Aich could not attend the event as he currently visiting Kolkata for his work. Every year, mime artiste Nithor Mahbub celebrates his birthday on August 18. As a part of the celebration, three entertainment journalists for the outstanding contribution in the field of promoting and spreading mime art in the country were awarded for the year 2016.
Later part of the event, Nithor Mahbub, on the occasion of his birthday, gave a solo performance titled ‘Life is Beautiful’, which has been produced Mime Art Theatre. Nithor Mahbub created and directed it himself. Make up and music composition have been done by Shubashish Dutta Tonmoy, while Henry is in lighting design.
