Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will send suspended fast-bowler Taskin Ahmed in ICC-accredited testing centre of ‘National Cricket Centre’ in Brisbane, Australia for his biomechanic test in the first week of September.
In a bid to attend the test on September 8, Taskin is likely to fly for Australia two days before the test.
BCB director and its media committee chairman Jalal Younus said in this regard that they will send Taskin before the home series against England.
“Taskin will go to Australia to attend his biomechanic test in the first week of September. He may fly on September 5 or 6. But it depends on the basis of his visa availability. He is scheduled to attend the test on September 8,” said Jalal Younus. “If he can be crossed through the test, we will then get him within the next 10-12 days. We are hopeful of breezing through the test,” Younus told reporters at the Lounge of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) yesterday.
“We are very much positive about him because we have so far watched his action what he re-corrected fully. For this we are very much optimistic about his clearance. Hopefully he will come back to be successful in the test,” BCB media committee chairman told in response to a query.
Taskin along with Arafat Sunny has been reported for suspected illegal bowling action during the last ICC World T20 2016. The duo worked hard to correct their action after returning home from the World T20. Sunny has been working with Indian spin consultant Venkatapathy Raju and head coach Chandika Hathurusingha for the last few days.
The left-arm spinner earlier worked with Bangladesh assistant coach Ruwan Kalpage, who was recently discharged by the BCB. Thereafter, he also worked with some local coaches. Even BCB-bowling review action committee also tested his bowling action.
Everybody is satisfied with his corrected action. The board may also send left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny for testing centre in Brisbane.
“Venkatapathy Raju and Chandika Hathurusingha are working with Sunny. They have watched his bowling with the corrected action. All are satisfied with his action and gave their opinion to send him for the test. He has a possibility to go with Taskin in the first week of the next month,” Jalal said about Arafat Sunny’s biomechanic test.
On the other hand, Jalal also informed that the board is agreed to send spinner Sanjit Saha Dip for his bowling test.
Sanjit was reported for his illegal bowling action during the ICC Under-19 World Cup at home turf. Thereafter, he was also reported in the last Dhaka Premier League (DPL) along with other nine bowlers.
The Bowling Review Action Committee formed by the BCB tested these suspected bowlers. Of them, five bowlers including Sanjit were permitted to bowl. “If BCB game development thinks Sanjit is ready to go for bowling test. The board will help him send for bowling test,” said Jalal.
