JUJA alumni committee formed
SAVAR: Jahangirnagar University Journalists Association (JUJA) formed its alumni committee at meeting held at Dhanmondi Daffodil University campus on Friday evening.
Making Shahidul Haque Manju as president and Kazi Jakir Hossain as secretary, a 33-member committee for 2 years formed in presence of former and running member of JUJA in this connection.
The newly elected alumni president Shahidul Haque was JU correspondent of Ittefaq and elected president of JUJA for 1979-80 sessions.
On the other hand, Kazi Jakir was JU correspondent of Mukokontho and elected president of JUJA for 1999 session. Conducted by Kazi Jakir Hossain, vice president of Jamuna Bank Abdus Salam presided over the program.
Additional police commissioner of Gulshan division, Abdul Ahad, head of Journalism and Mass Communication department of Daffodil University Syed Mijanur Rahman Raju also gave speech among others. A total number of 30 former JUJA members were present in the programme. Before, a committee was formed to form a full-fledged alumni committee headed by Abdus Salam and Kazi Jakir Hossain.
Photo exhibition on Bangabandhu begins at JU
SAVAR: A 10-day photography exhibition on life and struggle of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman began on Jahangirnagar University campus.
JU unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader Anik Kumar, Assistant secretary of JU unit BCL organised the exhibition at the guest room of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujubur Rahman hall guest room.
JU unit BCL president Mahmudur Rahman Jony and Secretary Rajib Ahmed Rasel inaugurated this exhibition on Friday night. A total number of 19 photographs is shown at the exhibition. It depicts Bangabandhus diverse interest and milestones in his life. The exhibition will continue till August 31 and will be open for all.
