Bottle removed from stomach

A bottle has been removed from stomach of a patient by surgery at a clinic in the city on Thursday.
Dr Jahangir Hossain Selim, surgeon of Health Care Clinic in the city said a patient Md Jalal Hossain, 40, son of Abdul Monaj from Farashganj under Lalmohon upazila of Bhola district, came to the clinic on August 17 night with severe stomach pain.
The doctors of the clinic after X-ray confirmed the existence of the bottle in the stomach of the patient and suggested to go under surgery at Barisal Sher e- Bangla Medical College Hospital for removing that.
However, the patient refused to go to the public hospital and requested the doctors to do surgery at that clinic.
Then the team of surgeons led by Dr Jahangir Hossain Selim performed the operation for two hours and removed the bottle from stomach on early Thursday.
The condition of the patient now stable and is improving. But we yet not sure how the bottle went inside the stomach and it was an unprecedented event of my professional life, Dr Jahangir said.
