2 ‘Hizb ut-Tahrir’ men held in city

Police arrested two alleged members of banned militant outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir while distributing anti-government leaflets in the city’s Gandaria area yesterday, reports UNB. The arrestees were identified as Hafizur Rahman Shahin, a public administration student of Dhaka University, and Zahidul Islam, an Islamic history student of Dhaka College. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Gandaria Police Station said the two Hizb  ut-Tahrir men were arrested while distributing anti-government leaflets in front of Gandaria mosque after Juma prayers. They were being interrogated at the police station to have information about their associates, he said, adding they would launch a drive to arrest them as per their information.
