State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak yesterday said all villages will be brought under electricity coverage by 2018 to boost development activities in the country, reports BSS. "Electrification is an essential part to expedite development process of rural Bangladesh," he told a function held on the occasion of electrification programme at Shotokuri and Chaknarayan gari villages under Singra upazila here. Palak said the government is working relentlessly to turn Bangladesh into a middle-income country by 2021 and a developed one by 2041. “In order to fulfill the targets, we are expanding electricity coverage across the country,” he added. With the implementation of massive development programmes at all sectors including agriculture, education, health, women welfare, social safety-net, rural development, communication and ICT, the government put the country on firm economic footing, he added.
