Besides protecting their legitimate rights, the children must be freed from all sorts of violation, repression and deprivation for building a healthy and knowledge-based future generation. Ladies Organisation for Social Welfare (LOFS) and World Vision Bangladesh jointly organised the discussion titled “Social Responsibilities towards preventing child repression” at a restaurant in the city. Local unit coordinator of Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust Advocate Abdus Samad, Debasish Snal from World Vision, Editor of Daily Sonar Desh Akbarul Hassan Millat and Executive Director of LOFS Shahnaz Parveen spoke on the occasion sharing their experience on the issue. LOFS Vice-president Azizur Rahman chaired the meeting. The discussants termed the children as the future power of the nation and called for ensuring equal rights. All the children need teaching of positive family and social values side by side with the institutional ones.
During his concept paper presentation, Advocate Shahinul Haque Moon said physical and mental development of children couldn’t be possible until they were protected from violence and deprivation since their early childhood.
Terming children as the future generation he called for ensuring equal rights for development of their latent intelligence as they constitute a significant portion of the country’s total population.
