Pass rate increases under Ctg board

75.40pc come out successful in Rajshahi

The pass rate of Chittagong education board has increased this year and it is 64.60 per cent. The result was published yesterday along with others education boards of the country.  

The per cent of pass is 1.11 percentage points higher than that of last year in Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination in Chittagong.
In 2015 the percentage of pass was 63.49 while this year (2016) it has increased to 64.60 per cent.
At the same time the numbers of Grade Point Average (GPA-5) five has increased compared to the last year. A total of 2,253 students secured GPA-5 this year (2016) while it was 2,129 in 2015. Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Chittagong sources said from 225 colleges, a total of 87,542 students were registered for the HSC examination this year while 86,716 students have taken part in the examinations and 56,016 students secured pass mark. However, in Chittagong female students have done well compared to the male students among the examinee 65.52 per cent female student and 63.67 per cent male student passed in the examinations.
This year students of Chittagong district (except city) have done well, 60.23 per cent passed in 2016 while it was 58.73 per cent in 2015. Including Chittagong city the pass rate is 67.58 while it was 66.24 per cent in 2015.
Mohammad Mahabub Hasan, exam controller of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Chittagong expressed his satisfaction with the result. He said “the students of Humanities could not do well in English and ICT subjects. So our average results are declined compared to other education boards.” 
RAJSHAHI correspondent adds: A total of 75.40 per cent examinees came out successful in Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Examinations-2016 held under Rajshahi Education Board (REB). The total number of appeared examinees was 1,15,780 of which 87,301 came out successful.
The percentage of pass of female students was 78.70 whereas the percentage for pass of male students was 72.71 per cent.
A total of 3,580 male students scored GPA-5 while the number of female GPA-5 recipients is 2,493 totaling 6,073 this year.
