Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra ran into further trouble as they went down to Muktijoddha Sangsad KC 2-0  in the JB Bangladesh Premier League football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital.

By virtue of the win Muktijoddha went top of the point table with 12 points from six matches with three victories and as many draws and also remain unbeaten.   It was Russel\s fifth defeat in six matches.
Russel, after suffering four defeats in a row their previous five matches, could manage a 1-1 draw against the team BJMC and the Dhaka phase (sixth round) was very crucial for them to survive from this disastrous but to stretch their woeful run.
Ahead of the AFC Cup pre-qualifying matches the continuous woeful results in the league and specially yesterday’s defeat is very discourage for Russel when they are scheduled to leave for Bhutan today at 4pm to play against Mongolian team and Bhutan club on 23 and 25th August respectively.
However, the demoralized Russel could have began the match with happy note but a fifth minute opportunity came to their way was flawed when Mithun Chowdhury looked shaky to shot the ball in the side net being unmarked closely to post when Nasir sent a cross in the open space.
Muktijoddha just getting rid of the initial assault hit back strongly on 11th minute when it was also something unfortunate for Russel when they conceded the first goal.
This time, Twohidul Alam Towhid made a low cross inside the area and defender Mintu Sheikh trying to clear the ball hit the ball into his own net while a confused goalkeeper Ziaur Rahman had no chance to react (1-0).
After conceding the goal, Russel became more trembling when Muktijoddha put them under immense pressure inspired by taking the lead from a half chance and doubled advantage on 25th minute. This time also it was blunder from the left back Mintu Sheikh, when a harmless through of Ahmed Kolo Musa went under the legs of the shaky defender to unmarked Jabed, who ran faster to fire home (2-0).
Russel, who were playing a very chaotic game felt into more pressure and were lucky enough not to concede more goals, as Muktijoddha went closer to shot on target and could not mark perfectly playing with better command.
Russel’s throbbing could have been bigger on 40th minute but goalkeeper keeper just saved a fierce effort of Jabed from the danger area.
The All Blues lost a certain chance to reduce but Mithun Chowdhury failed to work well on a Nasir cross on 43rd minute when the veteran forward was too late to take shot into net despite open space in front of him inside the box.
