Four get life term for killing man

MAGURA: A court yesterday sentenced four people to life term imprisonment for killing a man in Sripur upazila of the district in 2011, reports BSS.
The convicts are Mohon, Surut Ali, Hasem and Parvej (fugitive), all are residents of Baralidah village of the upazila. Senior District and Session Judge Mahfuza Begum pronounced the verdict.
According to the prosecution story, the convicts stabbed Abdur Rauf over previous enmity on July 14, 2011. Critically injured Rauf was sent to Magura Sadar Hospital and then he was referred to Dhaka. He die on the way to Dhaka hospital.
After two days of his death, the victim’s son Ripon Mullah filed a case with Sreepur Police Station against eight persons, including the four convicted persons.
Police, after investigation submitted chargesheet to the court against them. Later, the Judge, after examining witnesses and evidence, found them guilty and handed down the punishment.
The judge acquitted another four accused of the case as the charge brought against them was not proved.
