Mighty Abahani Limited fumbled once again to earn full points when they  share points with a 1-man Brothers Union in a 1-1 drawn game of the Bangladesh Premier League at the Rafique Uddin Stadium in Mymensingh.
After the draw, Abahani managed nine points from five outings with three draw and  two wins while it was Brothers’ fourth draw to earn four points from five matches.
However, the title aspirants Abahani Limited, who are the most balanced sides in black white yet to prove their guts when they could score only five goals in as many matches while their two wins against team BJMC and Soccer Club was only by solitary goal each and scored one each against Muktijoddha, Chittagong Abahani and Brothers Union.
Abahani, who hinted to appear with their real power winning the Federation Cup football yet to justify their reputation in the league, apart from the encounter against the host Chittagong Abahani and disappointed on the day failing to win against a ten-man Brothers.
Abahani were also a bit ill
luck when three of their good efforts were denied by the posts but their indiscipline and disorganized display was very tedious, as some ten thousands spectators at the Rafique Uddin Stadium could not enjoy the match.
Abahani squandered the very first chance they created in the 14th minute with a close range attempt of Sunday Chozoba hit the side post when the Nigerian beat two of his markers inside the area after receiving a left side Jewel Rana cross.
Brother also went closer twice to produce two half chance but Awudu Ibrahim failed to mark the target being unmarked inside the box and a good header of Nkowcha Kingsley went out hitting the side bar.
After the dull first half, the post lemon break session had no charm as both the sides demonstrating plenty of miss passes and aimless football.
Brothers took the lead against the run of the match with Nkowcha Kingsley converting a penalty when Samad Yusuf made a bad tackle to Auwdu Ibrahim inside the box on 53rd minute (1-0).
Brothers saw a great setback when their forward Mannaf Rabbi was sent off on 57th minute.
But Abahani could not capitalise the advantage much but to equalise the margin to manage one point when Lee Andrew Tuck, the English booter, superbly sent the ball into top corner of the net with a free kick from the penalty-arch on 62nd minute (1-1).
Abahani’s all hopes to obtain full three points were destroyed when two consecutive attempts were denied by the posts with Jewel Rana’s good effort shattered against the cross piece on 90th minute and  Lee Tuck’s effort returned hitting the side post in the stoppage time.
