HC summons Natl Museum trustee board chair, 2 others

The High Court yesterday summoned National Museum trustee board chairman M Azizur Rahman, its member secretary
Faruq Hossain and director general of the museum Faizul Latif Chowdhury for the second time for not complying with its directives, reports UNB.
An HC bench of Justice Gobinda Chandra Tagore and Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman issued the order during the hearing on a writ petition filed in connection with a recruitment notice of the museum.
The HC asked the three officials to appear before it in person by 10am on Thursday.
Advocate Shah Md Ahsanur Rahman, lawyer of the petitioner, said the same bench summoned the three persons earlier on March 10 when the respondents submitted compliance reports to the court and avoided appearing before the court in person.
However, as it was found during the hearing on the rule that the compliance report was not properly submitted, the HC asked them to appear before the court with the appropriate papers in this connection, he added.
According to the writ, the National Museum authorities published a circular on August 5, 2013for recruitment against 35 vacant posts in 12 categories.
On March 8, 2014, the selection committee proposed appointing 35 persons to the posts.
However, the trustee board of National Museum cited a case filed with New Market Police Station in this connection and asked for issuing a new recruitment circular.
Later on April 30 of the same year, the authorities issued a new circular for three vacant posts.
