UP member stabbed dead

Pabna: A union parishad member was stabbed to death by some criminals at Dhulauri in Santhia upazila early yesterday, reports UNB. Quoting family members, Nasir Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Sathia Police Station, said a gang of criminals swooped on Shah Jamal, 35, a member of 3 no ward of Dhopadah union and resident of Paiksha village, and stabbed him indiscriminately while he was returning home around 12 am, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he was rushed to Sathia Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead. The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.
