Kamal Ahmed’s homage to Bangabandhu thru ‘Mohakabyer Kobi’

Eminent singer Kamal Ahmed, a popular name recognised by the Tagore song lovers at home and abroad, has come up with his new album titled ‘Mohakabyer Kobi’ to pay homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on his 41st death anniversary.

Kamal Ahmed’s new album ‘Mohakabyer Kobi’ —which is the 14th solo album to his credit—has been released under the banner of renowned Raga Music from Kolkata. The album features a total of 12 songs written by lyricist Fazlul Haque Khan. All the songs in the album are directly related to the eventful life and work of Bangabandhu which highlights the heroic leadership of Bangabandhu during the Liberation War of Bangladesh, historic March 7 speech and few other significant events of his life.
Kamal Ahmed said about his new album, “Though my album ‘Mohakabyer Kobi’, the sacrifice, patriotism, foresight and leadership of Bangabandhu will reach out to the younger generation of the country. Today, our younger generation is rudderless for many reasons. If they follow the ideals of Bangabandhu, they will be enlightened. I believe this album will be a bridge between Bangabandhu and new generation.”
Kamal Ahmed informed DhakaLive that besides releasing the album in Bangladesh, the album has also been released in Kolkata. The album cover was unveiled yesterday as a part of the programme organised by the High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata to mark the National Mourning Day 2016.
To note, Kamal Ahmed released 13 solo albums earlier on different occasions, and his 13th album ‘Durer Bondhu’ was also released under the banner of Raga Music of India on the occasion of the death anniversary of the Nobel Laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore this month.
