To pay tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of his 41st death anniversary, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) has arranged a month-long programme titled ‘Shilper Aloy Bangabandhu’ throughout the month of August on its premises in the capital’s Segun Bagicha area.
As a part of programme marking 41st death anniversary of Bangabandhu and National Mourning Day, a month-long exhibition featuring artworks based on Bangabandhu-related poetry and songs is currently underway at Gallery-3 of the BSA’s National Art Plaza.
Earlier on August 1, BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky inaugurated the exhibition. A total of 150 artworks by about 148 celebrated artists, including Biren Shome, Ahmed Shamsudduha, Sheikh Afzal, Shahjahan Ahmed Bikash, Md Alaptagin, Md Kamal Uddin, Moyaj Uddin, Abul Kalam Azad, Pradut Kumar Das, and Maqsudul Ahsan have been put on display in the ongoing exhibition.
The exhibition is open to all everyday from 11am to 8pm, until August 30.
Besides, two more art exhibitions on Bangabandhu by children are also being arranged at Gallery-2 and Gallery-4 of the National Art Plaza of BSA from August 5 to 31.
On the other hand, screening of the films on the life and work of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman are also being arranged at the National Art Plaza auditorium from today to August 17.
