Two siblings were found dead on the rooftop of a building at Basabo in the capital yesterday night. The deceased were identified as six-year old Humaira Binte Mahbub and her elder brother Mashrafee Ibne Mahbub. They were staying at a flat of the building with their parents Mahbubur Rahman, an employee of Dhaka Wasa, and Tanzin. Responding to a call by the local people, police recovered the bodies from the rooftop of the building located at 157/2 of Uttar Basabo near Sabujbagh Community Centre around 10pm, Sabujbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Kuddus said. DMP Deputy Commissioner Masudur Rahman said they suspect both the children have been murdered in the hands of any of their family members. The mother of the children was psychologically ill and the police were investigating whether this has any connection with the murders, the police official added.
