Police yesterday arrested four persons including a young girl for allegedly threatening upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Bhaluka in Mymensingh.
They are-Md Mofizuddin, 32, son of Abul Kalam and micro-bus driver Sujon Miah, 30, son of Tafir Uddin of village Kharuali; Shawkat Mandol, 28, son of Abdul Quddus of village Kanthali, and Farhana Akhtar Rony, 26, daughter of Fazol Miah of village Medila in Bhaluka upazila, police said.
The arrestees hail from adjacent villages of Bhaluka upazila and familiar with each other, police said.
Kamrul Ahsan Talukder, UNO of Bhaluka said, he was threatened him by unknown callers around 5.38pm on August 8 while he was working at his office.
The callers threatened me to blow off my office and residence blasting bombs, said the UNO.
The UNO lodged a general diary with Bhaluka Police Station on the same day.
Using mobile tracking technology, a police team first detained Shawkat early yesterday. Following his statement, police arrested Sujon, Mofiz and Rony, said Md Mamun-or-Rashid, officer-in-charge of Bhaluka Police Station.
The arrestees were taken to the office of Mymensingh police superintendent for interrogation yesterday afternoon, said the OC. They were in police custody as of filing this report.
