Supreme Court authority is going to organise a blood donation programme on August 15 marking the National Mourning Day. The apex court authority will also provide free legal assistant to the poor litigants on the whole day at the Legal Aid office situated on the Supreme Court premise. The apex court authority has taken the maiden venture with the help of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and lawyers. Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha will inaugurate the gala event. Supreme Court’s Additional Registrar Sabbir Foyez told The Independent that the blood donation programme will start on August 15 at 12pm where lawyers and Supreme Court officials will take part in the programme. All officials have been requested to attend at the programme so that the gala event can be successful, he added. Sabbir Foyez, who is also the secretary of the Supreme Court Mazar Mashjid committee, said the Mashjid committee has taken a programme for ‘feeding the destitute’ on the occasion.
