The “Pay 365”, a mobile payment wallet app, was introduced at a programme at a hotel in the capital yesterday.
Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd (DBBL), Fynetech, and DataSoft Ltd, have collaboratively worked together to make this project feasible.
“This is a sophisticated technology with a new payment solution that has been commenced for the first time in Bangladesh”, said the State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak while attending the event as the chief guest.
Bangladesh has been doing enormously well in the IT sector for last five to six years.
In outsourcing, Bangladesh has placed the 22nd position in the world.
“This is the first tokenisation platform in Bangladesh that DBBL
is proud to launch as a collaborative partner. Payment would be enabled by using the DBBL tokenisation platform”, said Chairman of DBBL Sayem Ahmed.
The app is currently available in the Google play store.
Project Manager of Datasoft Sayem Ahmed has demonstrated a presentation regarding the product at the middle of the event.
“The value of transactions through mobile banking per day is Tk 606 crore in Bangladesh”, said President of BASIS Mustafa Jabbar.
“What if your mobile phone becomes a wallet? Datasoft is precisely doing the same thing first time in Bangladesh”, said Managing Director of Datasoft Mahboob Zaman.
“Primarily, three mega chain shops are going to support our payment system.
Eventually, we will integrate all the other facilities in it.
The skimming problem should be avoided through this solution,” he also said.
Initially, only the DBBL customers will be able to get the service and eventually others banks are going to be included in this payment system.
Mohaimin Mostafa, managing director of Fynetech Ltd, was also present at the event.
