ADB delegation meets DU VC
A 4-member delegation, led by Senior Social Sector Specialist of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Eisuke Tajima called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique on Wednesday at the latters office of the university.
Other members of the delegation were Ryotaro Hayashi, Elma Morsheda and M Zabed Ali Sorker, said a press release. Director of the Institute of Information Technology of DU Dr Kazi Muhaymin-Us-Sakib, Director of BHTPA M Hasanul Islam, Director of BASIS Uttam Kumar Paul and some other faculties of DU were present on the occasion.
During the meeting they discussed the possibilities of implementation of IT HR HUB Project at DU in cooperation with ADB.
The ADB delegation expressed willingness to provide financial support to DU for development of its infrastructure facilities.
ASAUB holds seminar
ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB) organised a seminar titled exploring the potentialities of students on the university premises on Wednesday, says a press release.
Mohammad Mahmudur Rahman, Department of Clinical Psychology, Dhaka University was the keynote speaker in the seminar. Biplob Kumar Sarker, deputy commissioner of police, Tejgaon Division, DMP, Dhaka, Wahidul Islam, additional deputy commissioner of police, Tejgaon Division, DMP, Dhaka and Md Jamal Uddin Mir, police inspector, Officer In charge (OC), Mohammadpur Police Station, Dhaka spoke in the seminar. Iqbal Ahmad, dean, Faculty of Business, also spoke in the programme. Md Khalequzzaman, registrar of ASAUB, delivered the welcome speech. Dalem Ch Barman, vice-chancellor of ASAUB, presided over the seminar. In their speeches, speakers called upon the students to come forward for the development of the nation. Speakers also discussed about the steps to prevent the terrorism.
Certificate awarding ceremony held
The Certificate awarding ceremony for academic excellence for the scholar students of International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT University) was held on Tuesday at IUBAT University Auditorium, says a press release.
Mahmuda Khanum, vice-chancellor (Acting) of IUBAT University, was presided over the ceremony distributed the certificate to scholars. Monirul Islam, chair, College of Engineering and Technology (CEAT), AZA Saifullah, chair and Engr Abdul Wadud, coordinator, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Abdul Haque, chair, Utpal Kanti Das, department of Computer Science and Engineering, Shoriful Islam, chair, Engr Md Abul Bashar Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Shohidullah Mia, College of Agricultural Sciences, Amanullah, chair, Mohammad Musa, Coordinator, College of Tourism and Hospitality Management. Professor Lutfar Rahman, College of Business Administration (CBA) and RN Shamsun Nahar, coordinator, College of Nursing, spoke at the programme.
