British Council launches IELTS scholarships

The British Council has launched ‘British Council IELTS Scholarships 2016’ to support more people access international education experience. 

This year five applicants, who are planning to attend an undergraduate or postgraduate programme with an IELTS recognised institution overseas, will receive scholarships each worth Tk 300,000 each, says a press release. Scholarship payments will be made to the respective higher educational institution in order to support the students with their tuition fees.
Students applying to higher education institutions in Australia, USA, UK and other countries may apply for this scholarship. 
Bangladeshi students who have taken the IELTS test in between April 1, 2016 to December 1, 2016 and secured overall IELTS band score of 6.0 are eligible for the scholarship. A total of 20 applicants will be shortlisted based on their writing task submitted with the application.
The last date of application for the scholarship is on December 1, 2016 and the winners of the scholarships will be notified by email on 14 December 2016.
