Blue panel gets new body at JnU
A 19-member executive committee of pro-Awami League teachers’ group ‘Blue Panel’ at Jagannath University was elected for a one-year term with management studies department Professor AKM Moniruzzaman as the president and chemistry department Associate Professor Abul Kalam Md Lutfor Rahman as the general secretary on Thursday.
Abdullah-Al-Masud, chief election commissioner of the polls, announced the results at around 5: 00pm at the university central auditorium.
He said that 370 out of 437voters cast their votes.
Among others, Nasir Uddin Ahmed and Md Abdul Alim were elected vice-president, Md Aminul Haque treasurer, Md Kamal Hossain and Minira Jahan Sumi joint-secretary, Md Mohsin Reza organising secretary while Ashraf-Ul-Alam, Kazi Saifuddin, Md Inul Islam, Anita Rani Chowdhury, Mohammad Hafizul Islam, Sonia Monmon, Sheikh Alamgir Hossain, Kishor Roy, Nazia Arifa, Afsana Ahmed, and Shamima Akter were elected executive members. The voting started at 9:00 am at the university central auditorium and continued till 2:30pm without any pause.
Iftar mahfil held at UODA
Annual Iftar Mahfil 2015 was held at Communication and Media Studies (CMS) department of University of Development Alternative (UODA) on its campus at Dhanmondi in the capital yesterday.
Vice president of UODA Trustee Board Daliya Nahid Khan was present as chief guest at the function. She urged the students to realise the spirit of Ramzan. Mofidul Alam Khan, coordinator of CMS department, presided over the iftar mahfil.
Dean of Social Science Faculty Ahmed Ullah Miah, treasurer Nazakat Ali, member of trustee Khwaja Zia, deputy registrar Munir Ahmed, Kalyan Mollick, Assistant Professor Nur Mahal Sharmin, Director Kamruzzaman, lecturer AKM Shahinul Haque and student Rezaul Hannan Mithun addressed the function.
Teachers and students of the CMS department were present.
ASAU holds seminar on supply chain
Business Club of ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB) organised a seminar titled `Competitive Supply Chain Management and its Career Path in Corporate’ on its premises recently.
Md. Habibur Rahman, general manager, Supply Chain, Marico Bangladesh Limited was present as the keynote speaker.
Prof Dr Dalem Ch Barman, vice chancellor of ASAUB, was present as the chief guest while Prof Dr Iqbal Hossain, chairman, department of business administration presided over the seminar.
The keynote speaker informed the students about the challenges of supply chain management in the competitive market and potential career opportunity in this sector.
He also advised the outgoing students how to be prepared to grab the career opportunity in supply chain. Teachers and students from the department of business administration were present at the seminar.
