Rafiur Rabbi�s house raided

Police yesterday raided the Narayanganj house of Rafiur Rabbi, father of slain Tanvir Mohammad Twaki, in connection with a cheque fraud case, in which he was convicted.
Rabbi was earlier sentenced by a court to one year’s imprisonment and also fined Tk2.10 crore in the cheque fraud case.
The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Mamunur Rashid here on June 24 handed down the punishment to Rabbi in absentia.
A businessman named Jalal Uddin had filed the Tk 70 lakh cheque fraud case with the court in 2010. Sadar Model Police  Station Inspector Shah Jalal conducted the raid at Rabbi’s residence at 27 SK Road in the city but the accused was not present there at that moment.
