Punishment for rotten wheat import urged

Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) and Socialist Party of Bangladesh (SPB) yesterday demanded punishment of those who were involved in the import of rotten wheat, reports UNB.
The two parties came up with the demand from a joint-rally they organised in front of Jatiya Press Club. Speaking at the programme, SPB general secretary Khalequzzaman said the government has imported two lakh metric tonnes of rotten wheat worth Tk 400 crore while the farmers of the country are not getting fair price for their wheat.
