Manikganj: Three members of a family were stabbed allegedly by some drug addicts at Baimael Pashchimpara village in Singair upazila early yesterday, reports UNB.
The victims were identified as Rokeya Begum, 35, a resident of the village, her daughter Farida Akter, 15, and son Farid Hossain, 12.
Quoting locals, police said four drug addicts stabbed Rokeya with sharp weapons as she tried to stop them from taking drugs in the dead of night. The attackers also stabbed Farida and Farid while they tried to save their mother.
They were first admitted to Singair upazila health complex and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as their condition deteriorated.
Police arrested two persons identified as Mahsin and Ashutosh from the spot.
