Cattle lifter killed in mass beating

A cattle lifter was killed in a mob beating at Kalipur village in Bhuapur upazila of Tangail on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Joad Ali, 40, of village Chondipur in the same upazila.
Local people said Joad Ali, his associates Nasir Uddin and Yakub Ali went to the cattle farm of Fazal Mia of the village at dawn.  They stole three cattle head and tried to escape the spot.  When the owner of the farm came to know he cried for help.   Afterwards, the neighbours rushed to the spot, caught hold of the three cattle lifters and gave them a mass-beating. Joad Ali died on the spot. The two others were injured.
